Youth Programs

Orijinative Drone Youth Day (Ages 7-13)

Our OAIL Drone Youth Camp is an exciting hands-on program designed for students ages 7 to 13 to explore the world of drone technology. Campers will have the opportunity to build their own drones, learn to fly them through a fun and challenging obstacle course, and practice their skills on a state-of-the-art drone flight simulator. In addition to the technical experience, students will also discover various career paths and real-world applications of drone technology, from environmental monitoring to search and rescue. The camp fosters curiosity, teamwork, and problem-solving, providing a foundation for future leaders in this rapidly growing field.

Orijinative High School Drone Bootcamp (Ages 14-18)

Our OAIL High School Drone Bootcamp offers students ages 14 to 18 an immersive experience in drone technology, culminating in the Transport Canada Basic Small RPAS Certificate. This intensive bootcamp is designed to give students hands-on knowledge and experience using the 8 key areas from the RPAS Knowledge Requirements Handbook:
Air Law, Procedures, and Navigation: Learn essential regulations, airspace classifications, and flight planning to ensure safe and legal drone operations.
RPAS Theory: Understand the principles of flight, drone systems, and aerodynamics to operate drones with confidence and precision.
Flight Operations: Gain practical skills in launching, flying, and landing a drone, with a focus on real-world applications and risk management.
Meteorology: Explore weather patterns, conditions, and how to interpret forecasts to ensure safe drone flights in various environments.
Human Factors: Delve into the psychological and physiological factors affecting drone operations, emphasizing focus, decision-making, and safety.
Navigation and Airspace: Study the methods of drone navigation and familiarize yourself with understanding Canadian airspace, navigation charts, and drone-specific restrictions.
Communications: Learn radio communication techniques and protocols, including how to interact with air traffic control when operating drones near controlled airspace.
Radiotelephony: Gain practical knowledge of drone communications, including emergency procedures and best practices in critical situations.

By the end of the bootcamp, students will have completed the Transport Canada Basic RPAS exam, earning their Basic Small RPAS Certificate. They will walk away with essential drone skills, industry knowledge, and a foundation for future careers in drone technology and applications across various sectors.

Orijinative Custom Drone Programming for Educators

At Orijinative Aerial Innovations Limited (OAIL), we offer custom drone programming tailored to the specific needs of educators and their curricula. Our team works closely with teachers, administrators, and educational institutions to integrate drone technology and applications into existing lessons, providing students with hands-on, real-world experience that enhances their learning across subjects.

We align our drone programs with the curriculum being taught, whether it’s STEM education, environmental studies, geography, or creative arts. By incorporating drone methods like aerial mapping, data collection, and multimedia storytelling, students engage with their lessons in new and innovative ways, making learning more dynamic and interactive.

In addition to enhancing traditional subjects, OAIL also emphasizes the creation of Indigenous content by incorporating Indigenous knowledge, history, and perspectives into the drone applications. This includes working with Elders, community leaders, and educators to produce culturally relevant content and use drones for storytelling, land stewardship, and environmental monitoring.

Our goal is to support educators in creating rich, technology-infused learning environments that empower students and provide them with the skills they need to thrive in the future, while also ensuring that Indigenous voices and perspectives are central to the process.
